The song "Come Out" is part of Radical Minimal and is based on the composition of the same name by Steve Reich. The starting point of this composition is the testimony of a young African-American man named David Hamm who was mistreated by the police. This case has gone down in history under the name "Harlem 6". In his statement, D.Hamm describes the moment where he tries to squeeze blood out of one of his hematomas to make it clear that he is entitled to a doctor: “I had to, like, open the bruise up, and let some of the bruise blood come out to show them.” Steve Reich then creates a composition for two tapes from this sentence on which the original message is increasingly transformed and overlapping layers of sounds layer so that the actual message of the text is no longer audible. In the previous reception history, this reference has been largely hidden so far. A. T. Kersmaeker's version, for example, focuses on choreographing compositional effects.
The two dancers Oluwafemi Israel Adebajo and Ridwan Rasheed now look with a certain distance at this case and this composition. Minimal music or minimal art in general is largely unknown as a genre in African countries. On the other hand, the use of repetitive structures in music and dance is very common. So her interpretation deals with the repetitive structures of music and creates a very dynamic and powerful choreography, similar to Steve Reich.
