Outer Space

This is a physical performance / film document on what space means
This work explores conventional and modern expression of space in its imaginary, fictional and real cosmos. I am inspired by the discourse that surrounds CONVENTIONAL AND UNCONVENTIONAL ART SPACES, investigating the perception of colonial interaction on African credence of public performance space which they refer as unconventional art space. In my culture, all that is needed for an act of theatre to be engaged is finding a space, be it empty or occupied as I also reference Peter Brook ‘Give me a space and I will give you a show’.
I hope not just to distort these notions of spaces from my Afrocentric view, but to use the embodied nature of dance, sound and multimedia to depict spaces in different mediums and beyond.

With my choreography, I approach these perceptions of space in which human is inserted or not . in space , my body is not only the most effective value that allows space to be experienced but also the space of experience itself. My move diction is a constantly changing and transforming process highlights it as a dynamic and mutable expressions of knowledge from ancient times to the present.
